Getting paid.

What happens between a reader buying your book and the money reaching your account — including the part most platforms leave vague.

Your share is written the moment the sale completes — it is just not payable yet. The wait is the refund window, and it is why a refund can never reach you after the money has arrived.

MotusPage does this
If the reader asks for their money back

You have no button here — that is the point. Nothing on this screen is a step you take. Your only task is adding your bank details in Profile, once; after that a sale moves through this on its own.

01

Why there is a wait at all

A sale sits inside the refund window for 5 days before it can be paid out. That is the whole reason for the delay: money that has already left for your bank cannot be pulled back if the buyer is refunded, so the wait is what keeps a refund from becoming something you owe. Your share is recorded on day zero either way — it is payable later, not earned later.

02

Why there is no fixed payday

Eligible earnings are gathered into a batch and sent as a bank transfer to the account on your profile. We do not name a weekday, because naming one would be a promise about every future week rather than a description of how this works. A sale becomes payable after the window and goes out in the next batch — the honest version of an assurance other platforms give more confidently than they keep.

03

Nothing is estimated against a list price

Your share is 20% of what the buyer actually paid, taken after the payment provider's fee — so a discount code reduces both halves, and a commission is never charged on a price nobody paid.

04

No fee for being paid, and no minimum

There is no monthly charge, nothing deducted for the transfer itself, and no balance you have to reach before anything moves. An eligible balance is an eligible balance.

05

A refund can never reach you

A sale can only be refunded while the money is still with us, which is what the wait is for. Once the transfer has gone the sale is final — a refund cannot follow it to your account, and you are never asked to send anything back.

Before your first payout

Add the account name and account number you want to be paid into, under Profile in your dashboard. Until those are filled in there is nowhere to send anything, and your earnings simply keep accruing.

How selling works

Price a book and see for yourself.

Selling is not held back for a paid plan — a Free creator can price a book and be paid for it. Plans buy storage and the creator tools, not the right to earn.
